Dyson Airwrap Co-anda2x vs Airwrap i.d. vs HS05, Airstrait and Supersonic Nural: Which Dyson Hair Tool to Buy?
Short answer: want curls, waves and blow-outs from one tool? Get an Airwrap, and the newest Airwrap Co-anda2x (HS09) dries fastest. Want straight hair straight from the shower? Get the Airstrait. Want the best hair dryer and style with a brush yourself? Get the Supersonic Nural.
The three Dyson hair tools
- Airwrap (multi-styler and dryer): dries, curls, waves and smooths using air instead of extreme heat. Comes with several attachments.
- Airstrait (wet-to-dry straightener): dries and straightens at the same time with air, without hot plates.
- Supersonic (hair dryer): a fast, powerful dryer. The Nural version adds scalp protect mode and learns which attachment you're using.
Which Airwrap?
| Model | Best for |
| Airwrap Co-anda2x (HS09) | The newest Airwrap: faster drying and smoother styling |
| Airwrap i.d. (HS08) | Bluetooth i.d. curl in the MyDyson app, which sets the curl for your hair type |
| Airwrap HS05 | The proven multi-styler, including the Persian Blue diffuse edition and Airwrap Origin |
Airwrap or Airstrait?
If you mostly straighten your hair, the Airstrait is quicker because it dries and straightens in one pass. If you like to switch between curls, waves and a smooth blow-out, the Airwrap gives you more options.
A tip on power
Dyson hair tools draw a lot of power. Plug them straight into a wall socket that fits the plug, and avoid cheap adapters and extension leads. If you're not sure which plug your version has, ask us on WhatsApp before you order.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Airwrap damage hair?
It's designed to style without extreme heat, which is gentler than hot irons and tongs. Use the heat setting that suits your hair.
Does the Airwrap work on short hair?
Curling works best on shoulder-length hair and longer. On short hair, the smoothing and drying attachments are more useful.
